My name is Emily Rose. I live in a rented mobile home for $950 a month with my husband and 2 children, Lily(5) and Daniel(3). My husband is a store manager at a local Auto Parts Store and I am a stay at home mom for the summer as we couldn't afford child care and we don't have any family that are in a position to help. A couple of nights ago I discovered that my husband has relapsed on heroin after 8 years of sobriety. He agreed to go to an inpatient program nearby that runs for a year. Once school begins in August I have a job lined up as a caregiver in a local group home but due to having no child care I am unable to work until then. My priority is to keep my children safe and healthy. I am not too proud to utilize the local food banks, food stamps, and any other assistance I can get to keep my children safe. I have applied for government cash assistance and every other program I could find but the rental assistance programs in my county all have waiting lists of 6-12 months and my landlord will not hesitate to put us on the streets after all the trouble my husband has caused. Would anyone be able to help me pay our rent for July and August? After that I can be fully self sufficient again, I just don't know what else to do at this point.
