Can you imagine teenage girls somewhere in this world are forced to dig small holes and sit on them during their menstrual flow? This is what is exactly happening in Tana River a county found in the coastal region of Kenya. You may wonder why does this happen in this current world?
The location is a remote area, comprising of nomadic pastrolists, most parents are in deep poverty and only have time to take care of their livestock for their livelihood. The girls are left with no one to educate them of the changes that are happening in their bodies. Furthermore it is considered as a taboo for parents to speak openly about sex and sexual health.
So during the menstrual flow, these girls are forced to tear rags from old clothes or dig holes and sit on them. This really affects their education as most prefer to stay at home during school hours than to get embarrassed at school.
This is where you and I come in. This campaign is aimed at raising funds to do the following:
I believe we are able to make a change in Tana River and replace holes or rags with sanitary towels and keep the girls at school.
Below is the link to the story. Thank you as you plan to be of help to save the girls.

- Buy sanitary towels for teenagers in the region.
- Orginise seminars to teach the girls on sex and health education.
- Orginise community awareness workshops on the important of girl child education.
- There will be an improvement in the girl's academic performance as a result of them not missing classes.
- The girls will have been equipped with health education and therefore understand themselves better.
