My name is Simbirisiyo Mushanewana (49) based in Cape Town South Africa . I am crowdfunding for my 4 year degree BSW bachelor in social work degree 2023 -2027. I already have my University admission letter , but its in another province meaning 3 times more expensive , ie acommodation ,transport etc and having to lose my job due to relocation .
The reason why I want to study at 50 years old is because I have discovered that in Africa we need job skills . 3 years ago after loosing everything of my 20 year marriage I had to overhaul my life again , so I got a terrible depression that nearly pushed me to commit suicide , but instead I Started off by buying 3 loaves of bread and shared between 26 plus homeless people every day and for 3 good years , and I discovered that the homeless / underpreviledged people needs more than just soup kitchens and clothes .
They need simple survival skills ( handson skills ) , counselling , mentorship ,etc . This pushed me to fund Donations on Wheels then i am caught up with knowledge to implement all what I think , thats why i now i need to study , so i had to collect my school results of close to 3 decades and paid close to R10 000 to retrieve , courier, saqa verification etc inorder for me to go back to school and aquire as much knowledge as possible for the benifit of not only myself but for the benefit of all and the African continent and I Think its high time Africa should start introducing jobskills / technical subjects from grade 5 eg carpentry , building , electrical this might even help most poor families imagine from grade 5 doing basic plumbimg in grade 9 one will be able to do minor repairs at home eg loose water taps , blockages , gardening , water lines laying etc .
All the raised funds will be channeled torwards my studies and upkeep for my 4 year degree , however there might be a provision of chanelling my studies fees directly to my instituition once arrangements are made upon enrolling / registering in January 2023 .
