This course will explore the essential skills needed to succeed at university and provide students with the opportunity to apply these skills. These essential skills include: understanding assessments and their rubrics, researching and evaluating sources, critically reading and paraphrasing academic texts, and understanding referencing conventions. In addition, in order to not just survive university but to enjoy university, this course will cover time management, planning, and study skills to make studying more efficient and less stressful.

Taking a formal class in survival skills can be invaluable if your riding environment is extreme in terms of terrain, climate, or remoteness. Some benefits include:
