I am Ismail Konneh from Liberia, and I have completed my third year of study at the African Leadership University, Rwanda campus. I am pursuing a degree in International Business and Trade. I came from a low-income family who couldn't afford to pay my tuition fees. My father had his own local shop, but due to the civil war in Liberia, his shop was burnt by rebels, which has affected my family significantly. I am the only child in my family who has made this effort to come this far in my education; all my siblings 8 dropped out of school, and the one who graduated from High School before me hasn't had the opportunity to attend university due to my family being unable to pay their tuition fees. I have been doing all kinds of extraordinary things and odd jobs to pay my tuition from high school until this university level. Before I came to Kigali, my parents and I raised some money for my flight which made me come late. And after coming, I was doing a cleaning job on campus in 2019-2020 to survive my stay in Kigali. I later worked as a summer intern in the ALU Marketing Department from July to September of 2021, and I applied for other scholarships out there to raise some money to pay part of my tuition, but I was not lucky enough to get one. All these have not been enough for me. I am kindly pleading and requesting your support because since I came, I have never set my eyes on my transcript, and all my registration has been put on hold due to my tuition not being paid, but I am still working hard and having excellent grades, which I trust is above 4 points. My graduation is soon around the corner, and I am at risk of suspension and will not be allowed to graduate if I don't pay my fees. I received an email from the institution that I have a limited time to pay for my tuition of $1,683.65, and I can't afford it neither do my parents. That's why I need good people like you to be involved, to help me support my education as I have tried my best but don't know what to do anymore, and I don't want all my hard work and sacrifice to go in vain.
