Hello, My name is Serhii Riabets. My native country is Ukraine. 2020 was a difficult year for everyone, including myself. The quarantine, unemployment, certain issues with my parents and other family members, etc.
I lived in these circumstances for a while.
I've done a variety of jobs in Poland in my past, all of them were tedious and uninteresting but also well compancated, higher than in my native Ukraine.
My last job there was challenging on a mental and physical level. I've been employed there for a year. I was thinking about my life and myself at the moment, and I was desperate for some adjustments. I've made the decision to leave my job in October 2021 and return to Ukraine.
I completed some seafarers training in Odesa, the ukrainian port city, because I've always wanted to work on a cruise ship.
As a result, I was hired by Princess Cruises company. I received all the paperwork I required in January 2022, and by the end of February 2022, I was prepared to travel to the USA and join my team on cruise ship. I was pleased with myself at this point because I really wanted to work there.
What could be better than working with folks from all around the world? Different languages and another culture. Traveling, gaining new knowledge. "This is it", I thought.
I invested a lot of my energy, time and money in order to work professionally for a multinational corporation.
BUT the war in my country already took place. I've been suffering and praying for a better future for everyone in the globe while I have been stranded in my homeland for 8 months. Why some people are so enraged and why they can kill or ruin someone's home with such ease eludes me. Why? What a reason? In this world, we can all coexist in peace.
I'm likewise unemployed, have no source of income, and can find a job in large cities. However, I need to move, which will cost me some money, which I currently lack.
I don't have any other sources of support, there for I need some assistance from people. Despite the fact that the war is still going on, though, I must find a way to leave all my troubles behind.
I want to live a normal life, therefore I'm here to ask for a help. What I've been through this year can't be expressed, but I'm asking you friends, donors, and volunteers out there to kindly support me and assist as well.
The one thing I know for sure is that LOVE WILL WIN. There are so many ways to share your love and so many ways to receive love back. My choice is LOVE. I'll find my way to live and enjoy my life no matter what.
