  2. Problem statement
Social exclusion creates vulnerability, particularly among women and youth. Lack of stable income, secure shelter, access to information and communication technologies (ICT), and knowledge and education as well as isolation from markets and job scarcity act as drivers of the social exclusion and lack of prosperity that rural families experience. In agriculture, women comprise more than 70 percent of the labor force, yet they hold less than 5 percent of agricultural land titles. In terms of non-agricultural employment, only 29 percent of those earning a formal wage are women, and young females are twice as likely to be unemployed as adults’ females. Economic empowerment is central to all and especially to women in the fight against poverty and discrimination. However, access to capital is low in the selected counties. This is because of several reasons. The first cause is poverty itself. Reversing this situation is of paramount importance for empowering poor elderly women and their families. To this end, hope and victory foundation has planned to support women groups in income generating ie chicken rearing projects, Training and empower their families economically to sustain their families.
