SCOPE:

A Fundraising Project And An Urgent Intervention Fund For The Revitalisation Of Nigerian Public Universities And Payment Of Salaries For The Academic Staff Union Of Universities ( ASUU ).

CHARACTER: " Asuu Rescue Fund "

OBJECTIVE:

As initiators of this fundraising, our focus is organizing a fundraising for the service of debt owed to the Academic Staff Union Of Universities ( ASUU ), a tertiary institution governing body, by and on behalf of the Nigerian Federal Government. ASUU, a governing body which has from time immemorial suffered neglect and ridicule at the instance of the Federal Government of Nigeria; in core areas like effective, efficient and poverty alleviating payment system, as well as sufficient welfare system of its members, who have become weary, ill-motivated, and uninterested in their profession as a result of the inconsistent and extremely meagre payment system on the part of her employer; herein referred to as the Federal Government.

This is a special appeal to every well meaning Nigerians and beyond to donate any amount of money, as much as possible, no matter how little, to sending fellow students back to class; the students who are always at the receiving end and have become academically impaired , as a result of the incessant strike being embarked upon by ASUU, the governing body which did considered the strike action as a might justice, in agitating for its rights and benefits.

Moreover, the major harm the incessant strike being embarked upon by ASUU has done, is relegated the Nigerian educational system, more into shambles, shattered pieces and an object of ridicule before International communities and her counterparts; as much as we believe that a broken lecturer, is a broken class, and a broken class, is equivalent to a broken student.

However, We are looking forward to raising a 900 Million naira bounty , as widow's might in rescuing the Nigerian Educational sector from dwindling , in areas like , repair and revitalization of dilapidated and broken characters in all the Nigerian Tertiary Institutions , in terms of infrastructure and human capital development. The amount which shall be handed over to ASUU as a staff members--tertiary infrastructure restitution and empowerment package.

As patriotic citizens, who is aware of the daunting nature of governance, putting into consideration , the massive financial burden of an heterogeneous nation like Nigeria, with expanded federal character, and who believe so much in the Nigerian government's strive, zeal and dedication for standardizing the Nigeria's educational continuum , bearing in mind her ( the government's ) onerous, rigorous, and daunting responsibilities in core sectors of the economy, which we believe might have mitigated adequate intervention in the educational sector. As compatriots, our obligation is to assist the Nigerian government in many of its wanton fiscal responsibilities by being a planner, partaker, and contributory. We are using the funds as a means to an end , in sending Nigerian students back to campus and putting the Nigerian Universities in proper shape, vis a vis, rehabilitation, restitution, and revitalization of existing structures. Lecturers and sound Infrastructure remain the breathing soul and vital pole in moulding and determining how far we can go academically, their intrinsic and extrinsic motivation need not be bargained or negotiated, as any deviation from this will have an adverse effect on students' academic career, which is why we are soliciting funds as a rescue package for paying off ASUU , so that all tertiary Institution students , as well as , their lecturers throughout the country can go back to class and the educational sector from combusting and suffocating, bearing in mind , that all Federal Universities' Campuses were ordered to be under lock and key on the directive of ASUU, due to the government's inability to meet up with her ( ASUU ) demands as stipulated in a 2009 agreement. On collection, the stated funds ( 900 million naira ) shall be handed over to the National President of the Academic Staff Union Of Universities ( ASUU ) Professor Victor Emmanuel Osodeke, with the Nigeria's Honorable Minister Of Education, His Excellency, Hon. Adamu Adamu and other critical stakeholders in attendance, for administration and proper utilization of funds garnered from well meaning individuals the world over.

Accumulated funds is at the instance of all Federal Universities in Nigeria , their refurbishment, restitution and payment of lecturers' salaries in arrears and advance.
