RAISING AWARENESS FOR MALE SUICIDE AND DEPRESSION

In 2019 there were 13,774 sucides in South Africa, 10,861 of them were men. This number keeps rising, not only South Africa but in Africa as a whole and globally.

Male sucide and depression is a commonly ignored subject. Men are seen to strong and are to show no signs of weakness. This type of thinking may be backward but it is the reality for most men and the reason many will not speak up or seek help.

TIgERD is an opportunity to change the narrative, to extend a hand to men who feel the weight that had been placed on their shoulders from the time they were born, is too much to carry alone. We want to show that asking for help is not a sign of weakness but of courage. We want to help men get back on their feet so they can be the best version of themselves for their family, friends and most importantly themselves. To give them back the strength to stand up and continue conqouring the world.

With this money we plan to create a community, a safe haven, a getaway place/facility where men can gather to strengthen and support each other. For we are stronger together than we are apart.
