Dalmatian okaš (lat. Proterebia afra dalmata), a butterfly from the family Nymphalidae whose habitats are only grasslands of central Dalmatia, from Gračac to the northern slopes of Biokovo, and on the island of Pag. It is a strictly protected species in Croatia.

This butterfly has one generation per year. The female usually lays eggs on the Festuca ovina plant. After the caterpillar spends the winter, it hatches in the spring, so the imago (adult form) can be seen flying on the grass from the beginning of April to the middle of May. [1]
