Layla is the sweetest soul, yet one of the most unfortunate ones. As a stray, she most definitely never had it easy, always in the search for food, water and shelter. The worse was unfortunately yet to come though when Layla was found shot, lying cold on the ground in a street of a small town in Greece, having lost all hope and waiting to die. She was spotted by some passersby that reported what happened to the area's group of volunteers, who safely transported her in a veterinarian clinic in Athens.

She was given first aid help as well as had her blood work and X-rays done, which all revealed a very difficult situation. She had abdominal bleeding, pulmonary edema and her leg was broken in two different places, leaving her very weak and in a lot of pain. After many days of trying to stabilise her health by several procedures and extensive care, the vets decided it's time for her leg surgery which is very demanding to say the least.
