Last weekend was terrible for our family. Our lovely dog Bela was hit by a car and ran away because she was terrified and shocked. We were searching for her everywhere around the neighbourhood. We were feeling hopless, because we have searched every corner and still couldn't find her. Then our neighbours called and said that she was hiding in their yard, but ran away. But finally after almost twenty-four hours we were holding her in our arms, but her left back leg was badly injured. We immediatelly rushed to the vet clinic. After inspection, we were told that almost half of her tail must be removed because it was impossible that it will heal. Her back leg was missing so many, almost half of the skin tissue, therefore it was impossible to close the wound, because it was on almost all of her leg. The two fingers were removed because it was too bad. Her wound was partly closed but a lot left open. So now we just need to wait and see how much of dead skin will fell off and how much will be left, of everything goes right and without complications, then when it is partly healed they will try to close the wound even nors. The worst case scenario is that she will need her back leg to be removed, but the doctors said they will do anything to try and save her leg. Now, after the first surgery she is feeling better, wagging her tail when we visit her, but still in a lot of pain. She is now in a vet clinic, because she needs constant care of her wound, inspections and medicines. It is not clear for how long she will need to be here, because it will depend on a situation, how it heals. She is only 5 months old now, her whole life is before her eyes. We will do anything to try and save her leg and recover fast, because we want her to be happy and pain-free. Because of the national lockdown, the situation with money is not that great in our family. And we will need a lot of money to pay for all of the medicine, surgeries, stacionary care and recovery, estimate is anywhere from 700 to 1000 and a lot more, depends on for how long she will need to be in the vet clinic.
