Orangutans are one of the animals that are considered human like. According to the National Geographic page. Orangutans have DNA that is almost similiar to humans. In addition, this animal can only be found in Indonesia.

Data from IUCN states that there are 100 thousant species in Kalimantan. less than 14 thousand species are on Sumatera and less than 800 are in Tapanuli. There are many unique things about this animal that should be our reason to protect it from extinction. Reporting from the World Atlas, here are the unique facts about orangutans that we must protect.

1. He is nickname the forest man because of his resemblance to humans.

Reporting from National Geographic, Orangutans are animals that is estimated to have DNA that is 97 percent human like.

Physically, there are similiarities between humans and Orangutans. from mouth to bone. Orangutans are more closely related to humans than Chimpanzees. In addition, the intellegence possessed by Orangutans. In using everyday tools is arguably similiar to humans, you know. No wonder it's nickname the Forest Man.

2. Females only give birth once every eight years.

The bird period of a baby Orangutan is said to be the longest compared to order land mammals. Females can only give birth to one or two babies in every eight years. After birth, the baby and the mother will stay for 6-7 years and from a bond.

Females care for their babies as completely as humans. from food to protecting them. reporting from the Live Science page. males will travel alone, while females look after their young. Oeangutans who are female will reproduce at the age of 18 years, while males will be sexually active at the age of 15 years.

3. Sleeping, eating, even playing in the trees. Orangutans prefer to spend 90 percent of their life in trees. They can play, sleep, and even eat for a long time in the nest they make.

Orangutans make swings from one tree branch to another to play with. Sometimes, we see them hanging upside down on trees for long periods of time. If they were on the ground, they would crawl around and could never stay there long.

4. Oeangutans build nest that are used for sleeping purposes. for mountaineers, finding the swing mounted on top of the tree is common. Orangutans always make their nests in the trees to protect them from wild animals.
The nest is made of rhe tree branches which are designed to be comfortable. in designing them, they took ten minutes of practice. during the rainy season, they will build a roof on their nest.

My friends and I had the idea of creating a breeding place for Oeangutans habitat. because in Kalimantan the forest has decreased a lot because it is used by oil palm companies.
