My name is Joan Oloo, a high school student in Nairobi,Kenya. I’m kindly requesting to be helped to raise funds for my tuition fee and other educational expenses.

With my past experiences and having lived in the slum area where my mother runs a school that supports the less fortunate, I have constantly grown to see children especially girls of my age drop out of school due to teenage pregnancies and be victims of child labor due to their economic distresses in their homes. Over and above this we also have cases of sex trafficking that I’ve gotten to deal with at a personal level and I am now part an parcel of a group that helps victims of such inhuman activities.

Studying abroad has always been my dream and recently I got accepted into Hoosac School in New York. My goal is to do international law and political diplomacy. This opportunity will not only be of help to me but it’ll also be an eye opener for many girls in the slum as they’ll also vie education as the back bone of success.

My parents are unable to cover the school fees due to economic distresses in our family as their income is not fully efficient to cover for the required amount.
