CONSTRUCTIONS OF 30 BED CAPACITY CHILDRENS WARD COMPLEX
My name is eric boateng.Am asking for support to construct a new thirty(30) bed capacity cildrens/ peadiatric ward in Tafo Government hospital in the eastern part of Ghana.
The 2019 annual report from the facility inicated inadequate space, lack of procedure room, laboratory, pharmacy ,nurses post, playing and study room for admitted kids in the children's ward.
the hospital was established in 1962 to serve workers of West African cocoa research institute now CRIG. The name change to Tafo Hospital to allow everyoneone inthe municipalityaccess the facility for healthcare. However, the change was not accompanied with the requisite infrastructure and expansionwhen the need arose to extend healthcare delivery to all in the municipality.
The hospital is a 60 bed capacity compliment serving over 85000 people in the catchment area and beyond. Though a lot has been done over the years interms of expansion the children's unit still leaves much to be desired. Presently a space cuffed out of the existing administration block is serving as the children's ward and can only take only eight(8) beds/patients at a go. That said, the facility sees over 4000 children anually. This implies that kkids who do not get space when the need arises have to be referred to other facilities distant from the municipality and this causes delay in treatment to the sick child. Again optimal care of kids who are sick is compromised due to lack of space for procedures,laboratory,pharmacy,doctors/nurses station, play ground and learning area for admitted kids and ofcourse a comfortable area for patient relatives and caregivers.
Provision of standard children's ward that has at least 30 bed capacity with pharmacy unit, laboratory, procedure room, wash room, playing ground etc will go a long way to improve the healthcare needs of children in the municipality. Again,it will reduce needless referals which increases the burden of parents and caregivers and delays in receiving treatment and its concequences. Also success in putiing up the unit will improve relationship between healthcare providers, patient and patient relatives. Patient relative wouldnt have to que at the adult OPD/Pharmacy/Laboratory etc for such services which in most cases leads to delay in attending to the sick child.
I am asking all who read this write up to support either by donating something no matter how small or share on other platforms for others to support towards the construction of the children's ward complex.
The attached profile picture is a proposed drawing of how the children's ward will look like after completion. This proposed architecture drawing picked from the facility has being on the shelf for years but no funds to bring it to reality. I am an individual who feel there are good people out there who can help accomplish this dream with their little support. Kindly support by DONATING to make this project a success to meet the health needs of the future leaders in the municipality and beyond.
The facility already have the needed human and material resources to manned the proposed children's ward and estate unit that will ensure Plan Preventive Maitainace of the proposed children's ward to ensure it last long to serve future generation.
I promise to show appreciation to all who contribute towards this course to improve child healthcare delivery in this part of the world. I will give feedbacks on progress as well to all who help if my quest to raise succeeds in raising the needed amount to fund the project.
Thank you in advance for your donation
