My name is Alicia and I have started this fundraising page because I am fighting to save the life of my little sister, who was diagnosed with cancer.

There are moments in life that you wish will never happen to you and today I am writing a message that I wish I never had to write. It is a situation where my family can't cover all the medical bills and treatment needed for my sister. I am asking for help in a stage of last resort and to be honest it took a lot for me to share my personal situation.

On August 23th, Anna was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Kyiv with an unrelenting high fever and abdominal pains. Sadly, doctors found a 2 inch mass on her right kidney, with masses in her lungs and lymph nodes. Shortly thereafter, Anna was diagnosed with sarcoma, an extremely aggressive cancer requiring immediate and intense chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

This cancer journey has impacted Anna and our family so much, taking an enormous toll on both Anna's physical and mental wellbeing. Aside from all the horrible medical procedures, she has missed out on so much of her childhood in the last year - the simple things that people take for granted have been denied to her. Due to her compromised immune system and constant risk of infection, we were required to keep her indoors, out of school and away from other children. She has been surrounded by sadness, unspeakable horrors in hospital and endured medical procedure after procedure. We just want to give Anna back a normal healthy childhood and put this journey behind both her and us for good.
