In 2020, I lost my grandmother to cardiac arrest and in 2021, my dad a 59 years old man had ischemic stroke. Cardiovascular diseases are responsible for 33% (180,000) of non communicable disease deaths in Nigeria yearly.

Equally, 45% of Nigerians doesn't consume protein against the daily health recommendation. Snail meat has been proven by the food and agriculture organization to be the best animal protein source for adults while improving the overall cardiovascular health. However, it is almost impossible for those living in Nigeria urban cities to have access to fresh snail meat. This is because the basic source of snail comes from women and children in rural areas who sources snails from the wild, thereby making snail a rare product and risking the extinction of the African giant snail and its breeds.

Drick Snail is a digitally optimized snail meat production and delivery social enterprise serving Nigeria urban cities with fresh snail meat, snail slime for cosmetics company and processed snail shells for livestock farmers. Our mission is to uphold numbers 3, 4 and 9 of the united nations SDGs in Nigeria.

We need $15,000 to setup our snail farm with 5700 breeding snails, create our delivery and logistics structure to reach customer's request promptly and build our website to enable customers makes their orders anywhere and get it delivered. This will also help us purchase climate control equipments to ensure quality production and thus ensuring that snail doesn't become a seasonal product anymore.
